What would the Assistant Facility Security Officer do?

The Assistant FSO must be a US Citizen, who is knowledgeable of the security clearance process and is clearable to TS/SCI. Operates under the guidance of the FSO and Security Staff. Works as part of a dynamic team, exhibits flexibility, sets priorities, and assists persons with disabilities. Performs independent actions, analyzes problems, and provides focused solutions to individuals applying for clearance.

What would my Role and Responsibilities be?

  • Work with new and current employees to educate and assist them through the process of obtaining a security clearance
  • Conducts security clearance pre-screening interviews
  • Ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures
  • Be skilled in managing complex personal situations, demonstrate ability to plan, organize, work, and meet deadlines
  • Work between three (3) different locations in the DC area
  • Assist employees in getting to appointments, gather documentation, and answering government inquiries and concerns
  • Provide guidance and support to candidate concerning the clearance process
  • Conduct security briefings and security education programs
  • Manage the continuing eligibility program for employees
  • Duties are performed under minimal supervision, must be a self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow up and follow through.
  • Must possess excellent speaking, writing, organizational, and customer service skills. Be able to communicate information to various audiences.
  • Must be able to provide support for 20-30 employees concurrently and prioritize effectively.

What would the qualifications and education requirements be?

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Associate Degree or higher with 2-4 years of experience in the facility security field
  • Knowledge of Documents of Disabilities or other industrial security programs.
  • Familiarity with the NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD's), and other national security standards.
  • Experience utilizing eAPP
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.

What are the Physical Demands?

Reasonable accommodations may be me made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, gran and lift up to fifty (50) lbs. Must be able to stand and walk the entire shift. Must be able to drive to different locations.

What is the Background Screening needed?

Must submit to a background check prior to hire and ongoing as dictated by the contract. Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet current contract eligibility requirements that apply
