Sr Risk Manager, Card Risk (Hybrid)

As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One's Card Risk Team you will apply your risk management, project management and analytical skills to our highest profile risk projects. You will collaborate with a team of risk managers responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Senior Risk Managers partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. This role will be the primary risk advisor for the Card Data Now Team with Card Data, Models, and Credit (DMC).

Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee risk team of 4-8 Associates supporting the Card Data Now team in the Card Data, Models, and Credit team

  • Develop and manage Objectives and Key Results for Data risk team in collaboration with Card Data Now team

  • Support Data Management, External Data Share, and Privacy risk teams by enabling broader Card Risk Office with deeper connections throughout the Card business

  • Manage Ability to Pay risk and well-managed teams though risk advisory and the execution and testing of controls

  • Lead Apollo, a data matching product, through a risk maturation through the creation of new controls and integration with existing risk processes

  • Provide oversight for all risk events & issues for the DMC organization

  • Support reporting and escalation of data compliance across Card senior executives through monthly reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Annual Covered Employee metrics.

  • Provide strategic risk management guidance to partner business teams

  • Lead and support audits, exams, and assessments with Card data components

  • Educate Card Risk Associates on data management, external data share, and privacy compliance

  • Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to your business area

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between the risk, compliance and other business support functions

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 4 years of Risk Management experience

  • At least 4 years of Project Management experience

  • At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

  • At least 2 years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

  • At least 2 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

  • 5+ years of Financial Services risk management experience

  • 3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

  • 3+ years of people management experience

  • 1+ year of data risk management experience

  • Risk related certifications
