NovaCare in Leonardtown, MD is seeking local per diem (PRN) licensed physical therapist assistants (PTA) for our outpatient orthopedic centers in St. Mary's County. An ideal PTA has previous OP ortho experience but we are open to consider new graduates or those soon sitting for their exams.We are seeking a dependable, experienced and flexible licensed PTAs who are able to treat, as needed, for caseload increase, vacation and leave coverage. Our center is open as early as 7am closing at 630pm. We treat a diverse caseload of teens through geriatrics offering general ortho, sports medicine, aquatics, neurology, amputees, oncology, and industrial rehabilitative services on the 45 minute treat schedule.

Our community-oriented outpatient orthopedic center is looking for a per diem, compassionate, caring and driven licensed physical therapist assistants to provide exceptional patient care to patients of all ages and abilities. Our highly trained and respected clinical team provides treatment services that maximize functionality and promote the best optimal outcomes for our patients. We utilize a variety of evidence-based treatments and manual therapy techniques to create individualized treatment plans focused on helping each patient achieve their specific goals and get back to the things that are important to them. Unique Location/Job Details: This is a per diem opportunity (as needed basis) for our outpatient orthopedic center that treats teens through geriatrics.

This would be hourly paid position with the ability to participate in locally hosted CEU accrediting courses. No medical benefits are offered for per diem or PRN clinicians, but we DO expect this opportunity to grow into steady hours soon.

Responsibilities
    Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
  • Possesses training and education which allows him/her to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment program.
  • Implements, with minimal supervision, high quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers and facilities in accordance with the principals and practices of physical therapy and with Select Medical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhances and expands client relations with facilities and their staff.
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate from an approved curriculum for Physical Therapist Assistants, and having passed a national examination for Physical Therapist Assistants certified by the CAPTE.
  • State license and/or certification must be valid in the state in which the individual will practice.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
