Job Description
The Concrete Foreman is responsible for the supervision of a crew of concrete finishers. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to coordinate the activities of the work crew.
  • Oversee the execution of work to ensure that field personnel are scheduled and complete the job within contract/job specifications.
  • Operate equipment, machinery, and other tools in compliance with safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the area daily.
  • Supervise and provide direction, training, and assistance to the crew.
  • Communicate regularly with the Superintendent to discuss schedule and production needs.
  • Notify the maintenance department of equipment problems promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of crew hours and material usage.
  • Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to supervise and motivate teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet specified standards.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to identify and resolve challenges promptly.
  • Report any project deviations, delays, or issues to the Superintendent and contribute to developing solutions.
  • Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures, working closely with the Superintendent to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must have at least 2 years of concrete experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to work outside, frequently for long periods in all weather, including hot temperature.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty. PPE includes; safety vest, gloves, hard hat and work boots.
  • Maintain safety as top priority in accordance with company safety rules.
  • Drug test required.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to sit for long periods of time while operating equipment.
  • Be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday starting at 5:30 a.m. This position is at least 40 hours per week with required overtime. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule and location changes.
Travel
May have to travel within 100-mile radius.
