Job Details:

Job Summary: Directs product management and project delivery for DTECH Mission Solutions. Guides product lifecycle activities from cradle to grave, strategically connecting the evolving technical and business functional groups within DTECH. Leads a group of product managers, including maintaining clear and visible roadmaps. Supervises DTECH product delivery and sustainment. Works closely with Sales and BD team to ensure that DTECH delivers solutions built from products and not one-off projects. Directs the update and launch of all products within a family of systems, working closely and transparently with executive leadership, innovation cell, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support at the appropriate stages of product lifecycle. Coordinates strategic internal alignment of DTECH product and platform portfolio, as well as alignment with executive leadership growth ambitions. Works closely with executive leadership to develop and forecast business cases for product offerings. Leverages technical and business expertise to identify setbacks and roadblocks, generating solutions and proposals for quick resolution. Identifies, facilitates, develops, and closes strategic partnerships.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Relentless commitment to winning the customer and winning for the customer.
  • Full ownership of DTECH product portfolio.
  • Creates, owns, and makes always-available clear product roadmaps, with confident schedules.
  • Delivers world-class products and marketing campaigns for those products.
  • Interfaces with external stakeholders, including new and potential customers, to understand unmet needs that drive product and platform innovation.
  • Develops and leads a team of product managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Develops and leads product go-to-market timelines by ensuring timely and accurate communication of task priorities among functional teams.
  • Works closely with Sales and BD team(s) to win business by delivering solutions made of products, not one-off projects.
  • Drives strategic partnerships. Develops supplier and partner ecosystems to enhance DTECH product offerings and establish adjacent or emergent opportunities for the business.
    • Leads and innovates with entrepreneurial speed and agility.
  • Delivers products that surprise and delight customers by exceeding expectations and creating superior user experiences in all touchpoints.
  • Liaisons with customer support, innovation and engineering teams to identify and rapidly resolve product issues.
  • Works closely with executive leadership and internal resources to establish and maintain product P&L health, including revenue, cost, margin, inventory, licensing cost, and other financial aspects.
  • Keeps abreast of market and competitive intelligence, regularly providing insights to executive leadership.
  • Represents DTECH in governance meetings to secure additional funding for roadmap build-out and feature enhancements.
  • Acts as Subject Matter and Industry Expert at internal and external forums when appropriate.
  • Presents business cases, roadmaps, and product health updates at executive review meetings when appropriate.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Must be a United States citizen. Four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, and/or the combined equivalent of experience and education. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including minimum of five years of hands-on product leadership and people-management experience. Ability to design and drive the overall vision of the DTECH product strategy across all functions within the business. Ability to lead and manage understanding of customer needs and validation of product requirements. Ability to lead and manage matrixed engineering teams to arrive at optimal technical implementations as well as a confident schedule of delivery. Experience and demonstrated capability to own and manage a multimillion-dollar product budget with P&L accountability. Excellent and creative written, verbal, and presentation skills. Previous experience with design, development, launch, and marketing of innovative technology products including hardware, IoT, and/or SaaS. Hands-on management of engineering, product management, and marketing teams. Experience developing strategic technical and business partnerships and the ability to manage internal stakeholders and external partners for mutual success. Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
