Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Process Engineer or Scientist as part of our process engineering and design practice in our Lakewood, Colorado office. The position will apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to process engineering, industrial water treatment, and contaminated site assessment & remediation for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Designing and evaluating the results of laboratory treatability studies;
  • Process engineering;
  • Water, wastewater, and soil remedy evaluations, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Fieldwork such as site inspections, water, wastewater, and soil sampling, treatment/remediation system design, drilling and contractor oversight, construction support services, and operations and maintenance;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Environmental regulatory compliance services and permitting;
  • Data analysis and management, including databases, preparing drawings, maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or science related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in designing, conducting, and evaluating the results of laboratory treatability studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel and other database and statistical analysis softwares (preferred)
  • Experience with specialized process engineering softwares such as InfoWater, BioWin, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD and/or AutoCAD. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $52,135
  • Maximum Salary: $80,605
