What You'll Do:


As the Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, conduct and provide engineering expertise while supporting requirements development, engineering design, integration, test and evaluation, and in-service engineering on Naval aircraft and their associated weapon, sensor, and communications systems
  • Review technical proposals and technical documentation in order to identify possible technical deficiencies and potential improvements
  • Identify plans, and evaluate and prescribe corrective action for Navy aircraft deficiencies to improve the aircraft's capabilities, safety, accuracy, and reliability
  • Participate in meetings and conferences convened to discuss engineering issues, problems, design, development of new and/or upgraded air vehicles and systems
  • Ensure products and services related to engineering are delivered within budget and on schedule while meeting technical requirements
  • Anticipate the implications that technological changes will have on assigned weapon system programs and ensures the timely integration of advanced technology into team efforts

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical/engineering area of study
  • You have 3-5 years of related engineering experience
  • You have experience working with airborne radar systems and sensors; bonus points if you have experience with P-8 airborne radar
  • You have an understanding of, and respect for, military and government decorum, with the ability to communicate professionally with high-ranking officials. You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities


Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
